THOMAS W. TUCKER

Thomas W. Tucker practices in the area of general civil litigation with an emphasis on professional liability cases, class actions and business and commercial disputes.

Mr. Tucker has been a trial lawyer since 1974 and was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1991.He is also listed in the "Best Lawyers in America" and was selected as one of Georgia's "Super Lawyers" in a survey published in the March 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 issues of Atlanta Magazine

He has represented clients in trials in federal and state courts involving: professional, products and premises liability; personal injuries; banking, commercial and general business matters and has argued numerous appeals in the appellate courts of Georgia, United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and handled one case before the Supreme Court of the United States. A substantial portion of Mr. Tucker's time is devoted to representing both plaintiffs and defendants in class actions involving a myriad of issues.

Mr. Tucker is past president of the Augusta Bar Association and currently is a member and Chairman Emeritus of the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

Mr. Tucker graduated cum laude in 1969 from Emory University with a B.A. degree and received his J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Georgia Law School in 1974. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Tucker served two years in the United States Army. In law school, Mr. Tucker was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review and the student editorial board of the Georgia State Bar Journal.

He and his wife, Betty, are the parents of two children, Jennifer E. Tucker M.D. and T. Daniel Tucker, J.D.
